Nicotine Vapes Are Still Addictive

Thanks to an increased awareness of the negative effects of smoking, and to a lesser degree, e-cigarettes, tobacco use appears to finally be on the decline. Where in 2005, over 20% of U.S. adults smoked cigarettes, now less than 14% do.

And while this is great news, it’s important we do not forget that nicotine vapes are still addictive, and have some negative health effects of their own. As e-cigarettes continue to grow in popularity, we continue to hear more and more about their bad side, prompting many to look for alternatives. Recently, several studies on cannabidiol (CBD) have shown it to be just the alternative e-cigarette users have been searching for.

To help you make an informed decision, we’re going to go over why nicotine vapes aren’t all they’re cracked up to be, and why you should give CBD a try instead.

How Addictive Are Nicotine Vapes Exactly?

While e-cigarettes don’t contain nearly the amount of harmful chemicals and substances found in regular cigarettes, they usually do contain nicotine, the primary ingredient that keeps you coming back.

Nicotine’s addictive potential is so great, in fact, some have said that it is just as habit-forming as drugs such as cocaine or heroin!

When you smoke a cigarette or use a nicotine vape, nicotine quickly floods receptors in your brain, which triggers many different chemical reactions. As a result, you may end up feeling more relaxed and calm, while also feeling more attentive and even slightly euphoric.

These feelings are very short-lived though, as the half-life of nicotine is quite short. Within a short time, you’re back to baseline, which leaves your body and mind craving more.

Because of nicotine’s quick onset of effects, combined with its short duration of effects, cravings kick in quick, which makes quitting nicotine difficult, regardless of the source.

What About CBD?

So why are cannabidiol (CBD) products like hemp pre-rolls and CBD oil even a part of this conversation? Well, first of all, emerging research on CBD has found it to hold many potential qualities which make it an effective tool to fight addiction, not just from nicotine and cigarettes, but also other harsh drugs including cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine.

Several studies have shown CBD to potentially help reduce cravings, fight withdrawal symptoms, and also offer plenty of other benefits that make CBD the perfect choice for those looking to quit smoking.

CBD presents few side effects and appears to be non-habit-forming, according to the World Health Organization.

CBD Is the Clear Winner When It Comes to Addiction

While both e-cigarettes and CBD are relative newcomers to public awareness, what little research that has been done on them points towards CBD being the clear winner when one is looking for a safer alternative to smoking.

With nowhere near the side effects of tobacco, CBD is less addictive than e-cigarettes, while offering its users plenty of other potential benefits.

Whether you’re only just considering quitting cigarettes, or have already successfully made the switch to nicotine vapes, CBD is the better choice in our eyes, both when it comes to your health, and when it comes to kicking your addiction!
