What’s up with that animal on your hemp CBD pre-roll packaging?

“Aw look, guinea pigs!”
“What’s the deal with the beavers?”
“These look a little too big to be gophers.”

We’ve heard them all. One of the first comments someone makes when they see our pre-roll packaging is usually around the cute illustration of animals. Just to establish this early, they are capybaras. What are capybaras and why did we put them on our hemp packaging? We’re glad you asked.

Through tireless research on the internet, we meticulously selected the perfect block of copy and used cutting edge technology that allowed us to copy and paste a very convenient bit of fact from Wikipedia about the capybara:

The capybara (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris) is a giant cavy rodent native to South America. It is the largest living rodent in the world.

Its close relatives include guinea pigs and rock cavies, and it is more distantly related to the agouti, the chinchilla, and the coypu. The capybara inhabits savannas and dense forests and lives near bodies of water. It is a highly social species and can be found in groups as large as 100 individuals, but usually lives in groups of 10–20 individuals.

All that aside, basically, capybaras are highly social creatures. So social, in fact, that they’re known to get along with creatures outside of their species. They’re also chill AF. You’ll find them lounging around looking adorable as hell. And they love water. They’re known to be excellent swimmers. FOR BLOODY SAKES THIS IS US!!! We found our spirit animal! A symbol that we could attach ourselves to. An aspirational image to remind us of the important things in life such as doing nothing and taking a moment to relax and contemplate what we’ll have for dinner.
